Martin Bush, upping his game with an Art Source™ frame!

Martin Bush has been the Royal William Yard residential artist for approximately 8 years now. His work continues to evolve annually and is constantly gaining collectors. His new paintings are now being presented in designer contemporary frames, from the Art Source moulding collection.

We feel these new frames enhance his work and at the same time create a whole new fresh presentation of these fabulous abstract originals. Over the coming weeks, we shall be updating Martin’s Original Painting Section with all his latest current works, all available in a variation of frames.

A set of three new paintings in our designer mouldings, these were £595 each complete. Now sold but with more to follow.

Edward Waite – Our New Shining Star

“Over the years, every now and again, along comes an artist with passion or style or flair, Edward has all three. The reaction from our clients to his work has been more than positive. His large over sized canvases that we specialise in, have been selling before they are completed. When this happens, I know we have found an artist that is going to go a long way. I personally believe the investment potential of his work is more than obvious.

I urge anyone who likes his work to buy them now, while they are still at a very affordable price.” – Quote from Trevor Horswell, Manager of Art Source™ UK.

All pieces shown below are sold, we are now accepting commissions and reservations on his future works. EW078 60"x36" Houses of Parliment2013-02-23 15.24.32Picadilly Circus PG2013-02-23 17.57.32 HDR522365_140332546114144_1674197228_n2013-01-30 10.02.04Harrods Huge2013-01-30 10.01.04

Edward was born in 1989 and grew up in a seaside town on the east coast of Lincolnshire.

Throughout his school years he took an active interest in art always searching for interesting styles. Growing up by the sea, he was forever surfing the waves with his friends and this gave him his first idea for a style of painting, surfing silhouettes. He carried this style through his A-level course work and it is still proudly displayed in the sixth form block.

His style soon changed when he started at University. Being left to his own devices and interpreting the subjects he was given helped his creative mind. He was later to develop his current style after moving to Lincoln, being awestruck by the city buildings and becoming absorbed by the new structural surroundings, the vibrant lights and the noise of the city. A massive contrast to his seaside upbringing.

‘I found myself looking upwards and often tripping up as I walked around the city.’

Painters Kiefer, Pollock and Kline were influences as he studied for my Fine Art Degree. Pollock’s process capturing physicality, Keifer’s surfaces marks and layering provoking mood and Kline’s gestural composition are all referred to as he paints.

Says, Edward, ‘I work with urban scenes rather than rural landscapes as I see the countryside as a picture already created, however within an urban environment it is often necessary to create a picture of beauty using the architecture and cities in which we live and visit…

My work develops as I build experience with those cities and I believe I create a direct and tangible feel. I start by drawing in sketchbooks which are filled with continuous marks, responding to my subject in a quick and portable way. The process of walking and drawing and the desire to keep repeating makes me look deeper and harder at my surroundings. Each page shows a single view, but collectively placed they form a large composition, collapsing the same subject together. Topographical detail then becomes embedded at a much deeper level.

The sketches are then transformed into paintings that register and transcend my subject matter in a very fluid and expressive way. At that point my paintings become subsequent responses where feelings, reinterpretation and imagination are applied.’

Having been a painter since 2002, Edward’s style has now developed and has been greatly influenced by his two years of travel. He has now become a full-time professional artist and his passion for art and travel remains as strong as ever.

The ‘Mallett Mobile’!

In preparation for the Timmy Mallett art exhibition this Easter, we had to spread the word. One of our many ideas of catching peoples attention was to sign post the van with the event details and ways to find more information on the show. After battling with the wind and cold weather, we finally got the van completed. Look at the images below for a quick overview of the process. Starting the van

Applying the Adhesive on to the van. Before we could apply the vinyl stickers, we had to completely clean down the van and dry it before applying the spray adhesive.

Half way stage. It was a fairly simple process to put the vinyl stickers onto the van. making sure that we left no air pockets or creases.
